Scale SEL
A positive trend for communities to follow.
Scale Social Emotional Learning Corporation
At Scale SEL, we blend empirical knowledge with evidence-based frameworks to integrate social and emotional learning supports across the K-12 Education Tier I & II Multi-tier Support System. Our system change practice builds service-delivery capacity for the clinical practice of diagnosis and treatment delivered in community schools.
Our mission is to systematically improve childhood experiences and income security by reinforcing positive social behavior and emotional intelligence amongst children, youth, and transition-age youth.
Creating System Change
Collaborative System Thinking (CST) connects health and education system stakeholders (CHESS) to promote meaningful engagement and support local decision-making. To effectively address deep-rooted social determinants of health, community stakeholders integrate knowledge as they learn about whole systems.
CST is a knowledge-building initiative that brings together evidence-based frameworks to organize the service provider network into a continuum of social structures. CST empowers stakeholders to create community-defined, evidence-based programs aimed at enhancing the upward mobility of children and youth.
Community partners help shape and expand the community-led Behavioral Health Paraprofessionals (BHP). BHP is an innovative training program aimed at developing a culturally competent workforce to prepare future Behavioral Health Professionals. BHP also enhances intergenerational social connections to reduce social isolation among children, youth, and transition-age youth as they grow up.
Our goal is to evaluate students’ behavior and its link to academic success. Research helps develop, implement, and expand social and emotional learning programs for future generations.

Why Scale SEL?
At Scale SEL, changing the narrative requires changing the process.
Wealth Disparities
BLS reported youth (16–24) unemployment at 10.8% in July 2025, with higher rates for Black (14.3%) and Hispanic (12.6%) youth in that period
Trauma Exposure
School shootings and suicidal ideation are serving as compounding stressors for children and youth—driving trauma symptoms.
K-12 Teachers overwhelmed by excessive student behavior. An Education Week 2024 report found growing fear: 24% of teachers said they were afraid they would be victims of an attack (up from 17% the prior year), and 47% said they were afraid for their students (up from 34% in 2022)
Social Workers manage excessive client case profiles. A frequently cited child protective services study (Meyers & Cornille, 2002) found that large caseloads were among the factors correlated with higher secondary traumatic stress, alongside low peer support and low administrative support.
